What to expect

Here is how a first visit works and how to prepare for it.

The First Visit

How a first visit works

  1. Scheduling

Book your first appointment online— it takes a few minutes. If you’re not sure Osteopathy is a good fit, call the office to talk it through first.

  2. Your history

First visits run 60–90 minutes. They begin with a thorough conversation: your current concern, your history, and the injuries your body has carried. The details matter — an old ankle sprain can shape a neck problem years later.

  3. Hands-on examination

A structural exam follows: observing and feeling how your body moves, where motion is free, and where it is restricted. This kind of examination often finds things imaging misses.

  4. Treatment, the same day

Nearly every first visit includes treatment. It is gentle, you stay fully clothed, and most people find it relaxing. You’ll leave with an explanation of what was found, a recommended plan, and a realistic estimate of how many visits to expect.

What to wear

Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in. You remain fully clothed throughout — no gowns. Please do not wear fragrances.

What to bring

  • Relevant imaging or test results, if you have them
  • A list of current medications and supplements
  • Notes from other providers, if you’d like them considered

Intake forms

Intake paperwork is sent to you when you book, so it’s done before you arrive.

Location & parking

For now, visits are held inside Apollonia Dental Wellness at 970 S Silver Lake St, Ste 101, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. There is parking on site; check in at the front desk when you arrive.

Afterward

The days after treatment

The effects of treatment continue to develop after you leave. Over the following days you may feel looser, or more tired than usual; both are normal. Take it a little easier than you otherwise would, and notice what changes.

Questions between visits are always welcome — call the office anytime. For fees and scheduling policies, see Fees & Policies.
